Let's get MAB about Brexit

Music Against Brexit (MAB) is a movement to inspire people to express their feelings about Brexit through the medium of music. Many people feel passionately about the issue, and music engages the emotions. By using music in this way, we can change the pervading acceptance of Brexit that seems to have spread throughout the media.

It was watching the video of Country Joe McDonald’s performance of “I feel like I’m fixin’ to die rag” at Woodstock, that first sparked the idea. Country Joe was apparently just asked to fill in a gap in the proceedings as the next band weren’t set up, but along with Jimi Hendrix’s rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner”, he captured the anti-Vietnam feeling of the “300,000 fuckers out there”. Together these were the iconic moments of Woodstock.

I’ve rewritten the words of Country Joe’s rag around Brexit, and want to encourage the “16,141,241 + of you remainers out there” to do the same. Write your own verse, write your own song, or change another one, and make your voice heard.

We’ll use social media to keep you all in touch, and to grow the movement, until we finally exit from Brexit.
